MILINDA ABEL

Group fitness veteran, cardiac care specialist, and your guide to lifelong wellness.

Since 1990, Milinda Abel has been inspiring individuals to embrace fitness and health through group exercise instruction. As both a registered nurse specializing in cardiac care and wellness and a certified fitness instructor, she brings a unique medical perspective to her classes at Catalyst Fitness. Milinda joined the Catalyst team following Group Fitness Coordinator Lisa Click, and has remained because of the exceptional instructor community and supportive members who make teaching rewarding and enjoyable.

Empowering Through Education: With her nursing background, Milinda understands the critical connection between regular exercise and long-term health. Her approach combines her medical knowledge with motivational instruction, helping members gain confidence, energy, and improved health outcomes. Her philosophy that "fitness is a part of life" and "rest is rust" underscores her belief in the importance of prioritizing wellness to prevent illness, making her classes both fun and fundamentally important to members' overall health.

What Makes Milinda Unique:

  • Medical Expertise: Brings professional nursing knowledge with cardiac care specialization to her fitness instruction.
  • Certification Trifecta: Holds certifications through AFAA, MOSSA, and Corporate Wellness, offering comprehensive, informed instruction.
  • Sports Official: Licensed soccer coach and certified referee, bringing understanding of athletic performance to her classes.
  • Longevity in Fitness: Three-decade career in group fitness instruction demonstrates sustained passion and adaptability.

When not leading energetic group fitness classes, Milinda enjoys traveling and reading. Her goal for the next five years focuses on improving her own fitness, health, and mobility—practicing the wellness principles she advocates for her class participants. Described as "funny, hardworking, and trustworthy," she lives by multiple motivational mantras including "you can do hard things," "rest is rust," and "you are stronger than you think," inspiring members with both her words and example.
