SUSAN HARRIS-FRYMIER
Kickboxing specialist, taekwondo practitioner, and your guide to high-energy cardio training.
Susan Harris-Frymier brings specialized expertise in kickboxing to the Catalyst Fitness community, having trained under 8th-degree Black Belt Master Garth Cooley in Indianapolis before relocating to Fort Wayne. When she initially struggled to find a facility open to her unique kickboxing format, Catalyst Fitness owner Jason recognized the potential of her training style—beginning a successful partnership that has enriched the group fitness offerings and brought high-energy cardio options to members.
Creating Energetic, Welcoming Classes: Susan's favorite aspect of teaching at Catalyst is the exceptional energy that participants bring to her classes. She has cultivated a friendly, inclusive atmosphere where newcomers are warmly welcomed, making fitness accessible to everyone regardless of experience level. With multiple fitness philosophies including "Find what works for you," "Change it up," and "Push yourself," Susan creates well-rounded classes that keep members challenged while respecting individual needs and capabilities.
What Makes Susan Unique:
- Specialized Training: Certified specifically in Cardio Kickboxing by Master Garth Cooley, bringing authentic martial arts elements to fitness.
- Balanced Approach: Emphasizes both cardio and strength training, recognizing the importance of proper form and technique.
- Personal Growth: Currently focusing on strength training with personal trainer Chris, acknowledging the importance of continually evolving one's fitness routine.
- Water Enthusiast: Finds greatest happiness at the lake, balancing life with peaceful water activities.
When not leading kickboxing classes, Susan enjoys spending time with family and friends. She begins Sunday mornings attending church and enjoying a cup of coffee. Described as "Friendly, Enthusiastic, and Caring," she lives by the personal motto "Your rush isn't my rush," bringing a balanced perspective to her teaching style that helps members push themselves while respecting their own pace and needs.
